for today

from the Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window... the sun is shining, although clouds threaten to drop rain again

I am thinking... of all the things still needed for Douglas' birthday party tomorrow morning

I am thankful for... healthy children, a husband who works long hours so I can stay home, my computer so I can stay connected to the world

From the learning rooms... I signed up for Tiffany Tillman's 25 Templates class starting December 1st, I have designed my template for Journal Your Christmas, and am counting down to the Wellness Journey at Big Picture Classes

From the kitchen... dinner tonight will be corned silverside, mashed potato and cabbage - if I can get Riley to sleep and get it on Natalie and Douglas have gone to James' house for tea, so Steve and I are going to have steak and chips with dippy eggs, true comfort food!

I am wearing... jeans, daggy old tshirt and mock crocs

I am creating... a whole lot of ideas, but nothing of substance

I am going... to a crop at my LSS on Saturday night. I will cut cardstock for Christmas cards, bind calendars for presents, bind pages for planner presents, and maybe even scrap one layout.

I am reading... blueeyedboy by Joanne Harris for my bookclub, and lots of Christmas magazines

I am hoping... that Riley will have a sleep soon, and the kids will play outside so I can enjoy a hot cup of tea

I am hearing... the kids sharing a drum

Around the house... is a mess. I try to keep up, but they're quicker than me.

One of my favorite things... hold on to your hats - I've been ENJOYING washing dishes lately! Mostly because I put on some music so I can sing and bop, and the kids dance along and forget why they were whinging in the first place.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I'd like to say I'm organised and have nothing left to do for Christmas, but I have only purchased a couple of items for stocking stuffers, and I haven't even STARTED all the making I want to do for the kids. Projects for next week include - making a sock monkey, purchasing materials to create a barn, finishing sewing cloth napkins, purchasing materials for clothes making.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

  1. Sounds like an ordinary yet fulfilled life! I'm looking forward to the Wellness Journey workshop also, hope to "see" you there.
