what's on your workdesk wednesday

I've never played along with this meme before, usually because I can't find my work desk, let alone want to share it with anyone! But with Finding Photo Freedom starting next week and losing my mojo after 4 days of layout-a-day I've been shuffling paper, sorting embellishments, looking at photos and pretending to scrap.

my making memories paper trimmer, piled with old chipboard thickers I'm going to use for more canvases, and my new Martha Stewart punches that are waiting for a hanging rail.

the pizza box contains a kit from storyboard kits, and the paper rack (under the sheet) contains all my recently purchased paper and cardstock.

to the right of the paper rack is a pile of october afternoom good neighbour papers, waiting for me to print an enlarged photo so I can use those accordion flowers that I laboured for hours to make.

and on my mat are some canvases, drying ready for words and more paint.

 a couple of diaries and a sketch book, waiting to be covered and used

my scrapping tool tote (made by Amanda), which had an accident recently with a little boy and a bottle of tombo mono and a lid, so isn't nearly as full as normal.

at the back you can see assorted containers of "stuff", things I'm not sure if I want to use, but don't want to throw away. I have found that if I can't see it, I don't use it, but if I don't use it, I tend to pile more stuff on top. I'm determined to find the happy balance

 the green box contains printed photos. I found that having photos to hand made scrapping easier, but this box doesn't have dividers in it, so I'm struggling with it. I'm on the hunt for something a little more user-friendly

on top of the box is my Finding Photo Freedom notes binder and clipboard, ready to be filled and utilised. I know I'm not going to get everything set up by the end of class, and I'm really interested in the photo work flow section of the class, but I'm going to read everything as I go, and ruminate on the right way for me.

behind the box is my ipod dock. because no good crafting session is complete without some loud singing (often needed to drown out the children arguing in the next room)

{photos taken with hipstamatic under a fluoro light - my craft room is a converted garage with only one window (behind the shiny red curtain) that gets direct sunlight in winter, bad for paper}

  1. Yes, I have a skylight above my desk and I have to be careful to keep everything covered from the sun when I'm not using it.

    I always love to see what other crafters are working on

  5. I should do a post like this - it would perhaps make you feel better. My crafting space is so covered that I have had to craft downstairs.

  8. Iguessed the sheet was to protect the paper rather than prevent my nosiness, but am glad to have it confirmed!! I like to have photos to hand too..my system is a wreck..I have an envelope of 5 or 6 on my desk and they get shuffled round till I use them. Rubbish, huh. I love your tote, and am sorry about the small boy and the tombow, but it did make me smile! Welcome to WOYWW, your space is ace and your theory about having stuff in your line of vision matches mine. When you find the answer, I'll BUY it off you!!
