blogging about blogging

My little blog here has been on my mind a lot lately. Because I love sharing little bits of our lives and thoughts here. And I love that people read the words I write, and some people even leave comments! I'm currently on a bit of a "can I do this blogging thing better" kick, and devouring lots of words from other people (and sometimes that means that my words get lost in the overwhelm of words, but sometimes it helps clarify thought.)

Some of my reading has involved going back to Blogging for Scrapbookers and Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers (because no matter how far I dive into the Australian blog scene, I still come back to my first love of scrapbooking and memory keeping on this blog.) [both classes can be purchased any time and worked through at your own pace]

Some of my reading has involved spending money on 31 Days to Build a Better Blog from Problogger (jury's out, but I'm only three days into reading it, although I have learnt some nifty tricks - if you saw my facebook page last night, you'd know that my blog is worth $US684, and is ranked 6,845,329th)

A lot of my reading this week has been wrap-up posts from Australian bloggers who attend Nuffnang Blogopolis last Saturday. Because my goal next year is to attend at least one blogging conference (hopefully next year we'll have another scouts leader, so I won't be doing two jobs and will be able to have time for other things.)

And I've been making lots of notes, too, now that I've figured out how to use Evernote properly (yep, it took another ebook to explain it to me, worth the $US5 if you just can't wrap your head around it like I couldn't.)

Have you been thinking about blogging lately?

  1. I have to say that the blogs I enjoy reading the most are the ones that are full of variety. The ones that share a bit of people's lives as well as the creative work they are doing. Sometimes I hit 'publish' after writing a bit of randomness and think 'well I don't know why I wrote that' but then I get comments back and realise that maybe we all enjoy having a sneaky look into what people are doing and how they are feeling. Blogging for Scrapbookers was one of my favourite Shimelle classes, and now you've reminded me of it, maybe I'll go back and revisit!

    1. Deb, I may not comment often on your blog, but I do enjoy reading it, especially your stories from the office. Don't change a thing!

  2. You know I've been thinking about blogging and the directions I have been taking and where I want to go now. I just announced today to the readers of my second blog that I will be pulling back and concentrating on merging my two lives into one with one blog. I'm so inspired at the moment to achieve and do so much.
