fabric for the triangle quilt
  • With less than ten weeks to go, I have to make a quilt. A triangle quilt, no less. As well as sew all that fabric I bought in February and have done nothing with.
  • I've never been struck by the urge to nest. Until this morning, when you would have found me on my hands and knees in the shower, scrubbing the non-slip mats. Wonder if it will extend to the rest of the house?
  • I've had a rough week with my BSLs. Trying new foods, food I ate last week increasing my numbers, starving myself so they wouldn't go too high, it has been a journey. I'm actually looking forward to my dietician appointment on Monday, so she can help me figure it out.
  • Baby hasn't had hiccups, and only given me indigestion a couple of times in the last week.
  • She kicks Riley when he wants to climb on my lap, but he hasn't quite figured out what it is yet.

  1. Haha - so cute about the baby kicking Riley. :o) I remember feeling baby-kicks when my mom was pregnant with my youngest brother. So awesome!

  3. My husband has been through being told he's type 1, then type 2, now some vague maybe nothing diabetic over the past few years. His dietician gave him some great food sheets that helped us a lot - I'd be more than happy to email them to you if you'd like!

  4. The worst thing to raise my BSL is white potatoes - they convert to pure sugar in my system. Bread can be a culprit as well as any pastas. Generally if it's a starchy carb - it raises the BSL. I'm Type 2 and found that if I can avoid the starchy carbs in the evenings, then my morning sugars are a lot lower. Gestational diabetes may react differently. Too many fruits, in that case, can possibly spike the BSL. And always try to eat some form of protein with every meal and snack. Just some potentially helpful hints from New Mexico in the US.
