the advent calendar....

Here it is at last (only taken two weeks to complete ~lol~) this year's advent calendar - in fact, it's the first advent calendar I have ever made, and the first advent calendar I've had in all my years as a parent (I think I bought one of those chocolate $3 ones from the supermarket one year for Chloe... then stashed it away somewhere and promptly forgot about it... only to have it surface one day when tidying my bedroom... and therefore to be eaten - by me!)

I loved the idea of the baby socks as a tree, but couldn't find a spare mitten for all my searching - of course, that will surface after Christmas when we're cleaning up - but it won't be in my bedroom this time, we've emptied it out and painted, ready for the new bedroom suite that's arriving on Saturday... although a bedroom suite is no good without a mattress, and last we heard, that WASN'T arriving on Saturday!

{please excuse the blotches... that was me deciding about twenty minutes ago to play with my glimmer mist - forgetting that acrylic paint won't like getting wet again}


And here's a close up of the stick... I liberally sprayed key lime glimmer mist over a tree cut out from Bazzill, and then hunted out some sparkly making memories letters I had... the numbering I did with my studio g stamps... series 16... and charcoal versamark on american crafts cardstock.

{to any international readers out there - can someone help me, please? I'm hunting for a shortbread stamp IYKWIM... a wooden mould to shape shortbread individually, not the big moulds you cook a whole slab of shortbread in... It's IMPOSSIBLE to find in Australia, unless I want a scotch thistle! Can anyone help me find one, and get it to me before Christmas? Please? I'm willing to pay}
