5 reasons you don't write even when you want to

I woke with a start, and turned towards the clock on the other side of the bed.

2.03am

The rolling gentle snoring started, and my brain went into overdrive, wide awake now the noise was ramping up from the other side of the bed.

Why you need to audit all the things now

Inside - why you need to audit everything, and how to get started

We've all grown up with the looming spectre of the tax man doing an audit of our books if we fudge our accounting just a little bit but there is immense power and clarity in auditing all aspects of your life these days.

But let's just back up for a second, what exactly is an audit?

what my 10 year old taught me about kicking fear to the curb

It was a bright and sunny Sunday morning. With a quick pat of the dogs, the kids piled out the front door and into the car, excited about the prospect of an adventurous morning at the local show.

We eventually found a car park, popped hats onto heads, and walked through the front gates.

We follow the same path each year, wandering through the craft, baking and art exhibitions first, stopping to marvel at the woodcutters, then meander towards the steam engine displays while licking ice creams.

As the morning wears on, we wander through sideshow alley, around the corner to the dodgem cars, and the Ferris Wheel.

I love the Ferris Wheel.

Why I moved my tiny email list to ConvertKit

Expert bloggers have been saying for years that the money is in the list. But it still took me a very long time to actually start my newsletter, and if you're on my list you know that I'm really not very consistent with sending them.

So why did I move from Mailchimp to ConvertKit, then? I mean, with the Australian dollar so low, ConvertKit is costing me around $A40 each month, and my email list is less than 100, and 4 months after I signed up I still haven't relaunched my sign up form with an opt in, so why?

Growth in the first quarter

I've been off-track this year. Lost in the HUGE pile of stuff I've got to do. And it's really impacted my writing. And my feelings.

I finished 2016 on such a high of all the things I was going to achieve this year with my blog, with my life. But none of it has happened. Or is even close to happening.

How to remember your value

I have always struggled with feeling confident in myself. People are often surprised when they hear me say that, perhaps because I've been one of those lucky introverts who has thrived in the online world where I can pretend to be confident because no one is looking at me. (Can you answer the phone? If I know who is on the other end, I can't answer it; caller ID is not my friend!)

Hello Monday

I was going to stop writing these posts, as part of my blog overhaul and refocusing in the new year.

I stopped writing completely, in part because of that decision.

But here is what I've relearned about this space in the last couple of weeks - I can do whatever I want in here!

One Little Word® 2017

I chose SUCCESS at the start of December. I was seeing it everywhere, as I went about completeing the blogging course I was taking, in everything I was reading and feeling as I reflected on the past year. It felt right.
