Hello Monday

Have I ever told you why I love saying hello to Mondays? It's certainly not because of the list of to-do's, I've never actually completed everything on the list in all the years I've been saying hello.

I say hello to Mondays to change the "Mondayitis" mentality that Mondays are bad. While I've never really thought that of Mondays, it is a pervasive feeling in society in general (like Wednesday being hump day, as if it's something to defeat), and while I'm only one person, I've got five little people following in my footsteps. If I can change their minds about Mondays, it's a start.

hello, sewing machine. I never did sew those curtains, but the kids really need them, so that's my activity for Wednesday crafting.

hello, camping plans. We've settled on a date for our next camping adventure, now it's time to start putting some plans on paper.

hello, parent teacher interviews. I didn't get to Douglas' PTI at the end of March because the time sucked, but I was able to make appointments with Nat and Riley's teachers at a much more child-friendly time. I'm especially excited to hear how Riley's first months at school have gone.

hello, walking. I didn't walk over the school holidays, but it wasn't as hard to start again as I thought it would be. It's nice to have actually found a way to fit exercise back into my days.

What are you saying hello to today?

linking up with Eva for Mummy Mondays and Alicia for Open Slather and Raychael for I must confess.

  1. I think I might need to start saying Hello to Mondays as well. I'm also wanting to say hello to long walks this week. I have my inlaws arriving from interstate and will be looking to get out of my home office as much as possible to clear my head.

    1. Fresh air has been amazing to clear my head lately! And I hear weather in your neck of the woods has been lovely lately.

  2. Today I am saying hello to getting this house tidy and back in to shape after a weekend of doing nothing with the girls. Now that I'll be at Tafe 3 days a week I know that I need to dedicate one day to house stuff and Monday is going to be it. It just feels right to start the week getting everything clean and organised, I feel like it sets me up for a good week ahead. Tuesday will be for Tafe work and blogging, WTF I'll be at Tafe, and the weekends will now be for spending time with my girls. And I can't complain about that (no matter the state it leaves my house in!).

  3. I just can't say hello to anything today. My house is a mess, the kids noise is annoying me, I'm sucking at motherhood today. This introvert needs some alone time to recharge. Maybe then I can say hello to Tuesday instead.

  5. What a great approach! Often I dread Monday and to be honest today I've just spent it going through all the washing - so much washing . Not very inspiring at all. So yes, agree I need to say hello to something - I will say hello to being a fun mum. Less washing, more fun!

    1. I seem to avoid washing the mountains on Monday, probably because hubby is home from work. Good luck being a fun mum!

  6. That's a lovely mix of the energetic, creative and people-orientated :). Hoping there's room for a start on that sewing. Over here, I am getting ready for work and being organised about making sure I am taking enough food with me to last the day!

    1. Unless there's ill children, I am going to sew for at least an hour at some point this week.

  7. My day seemed to fly by (school went back today). It felt like I got nothing achieved, but when I had some time to think about it, I actually realised some cool things came to light. Mondays aren't too bad for me really. My favourite is sitting down in my lounge chair, reading Open Slather posts and watching shows on 7mate!
