Well, I've finally convinced Cody and Natalie that they want to go to sleep, and after a crappy start to the day Chloe and Douglas are behaving really well, so I thought I'd take a minute or three to ramble some rambling thoughts....
Do you take scrappy classes? Online or at your LSS? What attracts you to a class?
I try to take as many classes as I can, to expand my knowledge, and my abilities... it's something that carries over from my everyday life - the importance of education in achieving your goals, whatever they may be. I try to do all the classes at scraptherapy, cause the DT there rock (although there's a pile of projects I need to work my way through!)
I discovered twopeasinabucket cause of their twelve week photography class (which is all printed out, waiting for me to read it), and now they're doing a twelve week baby album class which I am faithfully downloading (to create albums for all the many friends from mums group who are now expecting number two!)
Somewhere out in the blogosphere (man, didn't my DH wet himself when I used that word last night to try and explain my rambling thought!) I discovered shimelle, and faithfully downloaded her "there's no place like home" class (and even created one LO, and have a half finished "book of doors"), and I'm hanging out for the new class that starts next week (the title of which I have completely forgotten, but which sounds so totally awesome I had to sign up straight away!)
My LSS offers a wide variety of classes, but nothing that really rocked my boat until I saw the sample for the advent calender on Friday night - I'm not sure how, but I think I want to try to get along to that class (hopefully, they run it again next month!!)
And lastly, there's places like BPS, who specialise in online classes, most for a small fee... I love the idea of instantly accessible classes that I can do when I have time, and still have access to instructors and end up with some amazing stuff that I wouldn't have thought of myself!! I've got a couple of classes lined up waiting for holidays to end - "conversations" from Nic Howard and "unstoppable me" from Lisa Day (and here's another class from Nic that I think I might take) and when I peered out from under my rock recently I discovered Cathy Zielske, and her upcoming class at BPS sounds totally awesome!!
So, what do you do? Do you step outside your square, and take classes to create stuff you wouldn't do by yourself, your do you take classes that you feel comfortable with?
