a recipe to share

Okay, so I am going to post something of value today!!

I got this recipe from taste, but I do have the magazine that it came from, cause I have EVERY issue of it!! It was in their "bake to school lunch box special", but my kids aren't cold past eaters, so it was a flop, but it's great straight from the oven for tea!

Cheesy ham and macaroni bake

2 and a half cups macaroni, cooked according to instructions
60g butter
1/4 cup plain flour
2 cups milk
1 and a half cups grated cheddar cheese
150g shaved ham, chopped

- melt butter in saucepan. when foamy, add flour, cook stirring thirty seconds, then add milk, whisk until thickened. add cheese, stir until melted.
- add pasta and ham, stir to combine. pour into baking dish, sprinkle with cheese
- bake 25-30min 180degrees c.

can be frozen (wrap well in glad wrap), and popped into lunch box in the morning.
is also delicious with slices of ripe tomato across the top under the cheese, I didn't have any tonight, and couldn't be bothered going out again to get any!

happy eating!
