speed limited week - randomness

I scored a deal on ebay a while back, and got Donna Downey's Decorative Journals (and all the rest of the books in the series) at a great price... and I finally read it and created this journal... it will make a great present for someone, and was so simple to make from scratch!

I found these cute candles (they're only about an inch and a half high) for $2 in the junk shop yesterday - they'll make an awesome gift, now I've jazzed them up with Kaisercraft fozz felt, for Douglas' teacher at the end of the year.

Soule Mama made this skirt for her little one recently, and I had just bought material I wanted to use the day before, so it was a simple step to hunting out the pattern, and dreaming about making it... well, I finally got around to pulling out the sewing machine last night, and finishing it off this afternoon... I also bought more material this morning, to make a skirt for the big girl!

Wandering around the newsagents the other evening, I spotted this business card holder, and immediately had thoughts of decorating and filling it with photos for grandparents for Christmas.

Stacey Julian had a post a couple of weeks ago about being present with your life, and creating an album of photos from the present... she even had a giveaway to the first 50 comments, and I was lucky enough to win a bazzill mono mini album!! And it actually arrived (unlike a blog win from the end of August that I'm STILL waiting for)

I used some scraps of paper (MME, sassafras lass, kaisercraft and 3 bugs in a rug) and stuck the photos in with a bit of journaling on the photos {PS American Crafts slick writers are awesome!!}

A productive week all round,
but I'm still behind with my Christmas cards!!
