~~ red velvet shortbread ~~


Recipe from the 2009 BHG Christmas Cookies magazine
The idea of red chocolate intrigues me!


~~ ingredients ~~
1 & 1/4 cup plain (all purpose) flour
1/3 cup caster sugar (sugar)
2Tbs cocoa (unsweetened cocoa powder)
125g (1/2 cup) butter
1Tbs red food colouring

~~ method ~~
combine all ingredients in food processor
pulse until it resembles fine breadcrumbs
mix until it pulls into a ball
turn out and knead gently
roll out 1/4" thickness, cut with cookie cutter
{I rolled into balls and flattened gently}
bake 160 c (325 F) 20-25min
