my life in 250 words

250 words?

That's if I can get the first words out.

"There once was a girl called Catherine..."

... lived in a small country town, went to school, was torn from the world she knew and transplanted to the 'big smoke'

... never had friends at school (until the last couple of years). Traveled miles every day in miserable Melbourne weather, hated every minute of school.

... didn't have the grades for university, so worked for her parents. Parents decided to have a sea change, and transplanted the whole family to Airlie Beach, Queensland (an even smaller town than the one she grew up in)

... the family split up after lots of business setbacks. They never came together as family again.

... the girl worked in a restaurant, first as kitchen hand, then as waitress. She loved serving the regulars, and meeting new people (which sounds odd, when you realise she's an introvert)

... the girl met a guy, thought 'this is it' and they had a baby. Turns out, her idea of 'this is it' didn't match his, and they parted ways.

... she moved her little family to Brisbane, to study at university. She got side tracked along the way, working, getting involved in student politics, studying occasionally.

... one day, when she was really sick, she met her husband. He seemed ok, after chatting via email and on the phone, and did offer to help her. Two weeks later, they decided to move their families in together.

... 13 weeks later, they got married. She was terribly sick with morning sickness, and the hormones made her a crazy woman, but they were on a journey together.

... 7 years (this month) since they met, they're waiting for another babe to arrive, and this space tells lots of other stories from those years.

  9. Wow, what a story! I was getting a bit sad at the beginning with all your family and life changes, but it sounds like it's working out pretty beautifully now (especially since you are hopefully out of morning sickness territory!) and those bumps definitely make us who we are. Go you for etching time into your day with all those kiddos!
