sunday... and some scrapping...

I told you on Friday about cybercropping at scraptherapy - my goal is always to get at least one LO completed from the four or five challenges, and anything more than that is a bonus - and I completed one LO!

The theme for this month is "power of words" - the therapy version of "one little word" by AE... so this LO ties to that... the challenge was to scrap the photo we opted to use for our avatars, using a sketch set by one of the therapists, Julie. I stuck to the bright colours from the photo - using Kaisercraft fozz felt and rhinestones, Prima forever flowers, Basic Grey romani die cut tags, AC thickers jewellry box and Carolee's Creations tiny etched natural alphas... I was really happy with how it turned out.

On to our Sunday.... we had another first birthday party to go to this morning... I'm still a little confused about it... as soon as we arrived, we were handed paper bags of "something" (weren't told what), and it wasn't until a short while later when the kids were checking them out that we realised, this was the food! Fruit (apple or pear, neither of which any of my kids can eat), fruit juice, and balloons for the kids; fruit, fruit juice and chips for the grown ups. That's the bit I'm confused about - I understand and support the nutritional emphasis of eating fruit and veg (although I struggle to get my kids to eat it!) instead of cake and chips (but there was birthday cake), but at a birthday party?!

The rest of it was fun, though... we were at a local park (one I hadn't visited before), and there was plenty of stuff for the kids to do - although we took their bikes, and after eighteen months of battles with Douglas, he finally proved to us he can ride his bike!! We played pass the parcel - although the hostess forgot about the big kids that were attending the party, and they nearly missed out! The weather was undecided - sun or rain - and gave us a bit of everything, and by the time we ere halfway home, it was pelting down!

We spent the rest of the afternoon being lazy - DH slept on the armchair, I played on the computer then cooked corned silverside for tea, and the big kids ran around in the rain!! Nat is tired, but doesn't really know what she wants!!

Tomorrow, the scrapbook mafia is visiting again, so I need to get some page kits together for that - I'm hoping to have a play with one of the kits from a million memories that have been sitting on my shelf for a couple of weeks, but I have to get a couple of circle journals finished first (cause I'm waayy behind), and some ATC's, as well (only just remembered them, oops) better go get started!
