anatomy of a party in photos + words

Riley turned on last Saturday. We had a party/naming ceremony for him.

{the same recipe I used for Natalie's birthday}

I made the balloon wreath

My mum made pinwheels
{from the Flyin' High papers}

and tissue paper balls

Mum made the cupcake toppers
{from the kit}

and I made the tie for his shirt
{printed one of the papers on fabric}

a simple banner hanging in the marquee

the kids were part of our naming ceremony

he went to sleep just after this, so we had cake the next day
he was quick to poke the cake when I put it down in front of him

  1. Oh, Cate, I have been waiting to see pictures of Riley's birthday party. It looks awesome and I love all the things you did to make this a special day for him. How clever that you used a patterned paper to create fabric for his tie?!?! Adorable.

    And I LOVE that balloon wreathe. I had seen that one too and tagged it for future reference.

    So glad the day was a success!!! xo ♥
