celebrating blog friendship

Thanks for dropping by from Nancy's blog!

For Friendship

Just about a year ago Shimelle held a class called "blogging for scrapbookers". In my usual class-loving, procrastinating fashion, I signed up, ran with it for awhile, then let it fall by the wayside, keeping up with the reading of prompts but not much else (kind of like how I am currently keeping up with "true stories")

I learnt how to use Google Reader (but haven't mastered the fine art of "keeping up" with posts, or how not to get sucked in by clicking links, or how to avoid using blog reading as a time waster, so don't ask me for any pointers), and multi tabs in one window.

I shared my intentions, and the view out my kitchen window, baked cookies, learnt about linking back and revisiting old posts, and sharing similar posts consistently. But most of all, dear readers, I shared your worlds. I learnt that Mel speaks Melsh, and bakes like I do; Sian crafts from high in the sky, and even accountants have man-caves; that Amy is a stay-at-home-mum with young kids; that Deb plans the most amazing parties; and Deb makes ironing sound worthwhile.

That doesn't cover everybody that I've met, or the things that I've learnt. When I've had a long day with the kids I know that somewhere in my reader I'll find a post that makes me smile, or think, or say "yep, that happens to me, too", and then I'm not alone anymore.

Now, before I get any more maudlin, I need to tell you that the letter you need is
Make sure you write that down, and keep it in a safe place. When you've visited all the blogs, you'll have a sentence that you need to EMAIL to Jo - josowerby@yahoo.co.uk - she will have more information about the prize when you reach her blog at the end.

Now you're heading off to visit Cal in a bramble patch in Worcestershire. Here is the full list of blogs, in case you get lost along the way.

  9. It may have been a year since the class, but I still haven't worked out google reader yet either. I keep trying to use it, then giving up. I like visiting blog home pages too much, so I can see great blog headers like yours!

    Great partying with you! x
