wdyt? | closing the bread

We have this running issue in our house - Steve doesn't close the bread properly.**

He folds the bag underneath the loaf, which isn't a secure seal.

Rather than twisting the end, then tucking it under the loaf.

And no amount of nagging discussion as changed the habit.

How do you close the bread?

** today, when I needed photos for this post (because the originals I took last week were out of focus) for the first time ever, Steve closed the bread properly, in the second photo. Kind-of makes the whole post superfluous, but there's always tomorrow to go back to bad habits.

  1. Nooooo!! You have to twist it off and seal it so it stays fresh... otherwise you get the half crusty stale bits ewwww!!!

  2. YES! Twist and fold! (Kinda reminds me of the Bend and Snap from Legally Blonde ROFL).

Of course the big question is - will he do it tomorrow? And the day after that? And the one after that????

  3. hehehe I have a similar husband!!!! totally relating to this post!!! :)

    hate stale food!

  4. *insert sheepish look here* I am the one who never puts things away properly in our house. Can we still be friends? :)

  5. At least he makes an effort, mine usually just leaves it flapping in the breeze on the bench!

  6. At least he leaves the crust over the cut end. My ex always eats the crust, doesn't seal the bag and then scraps the knife back into the tub of spread, so that it is full of crumbs. Yeuch!

  7. We seal with the fan dangled clips from Ikea! They are husbandproof!! X Karen #TeamIBOT

  8. IKEA clips here too, I got sick of stale everything! :)

  9. Ha ha! In our home it's more likely to be me that does it the dodgy way, and Boatman complaining :/
