Hello Monday

hello brain surgery Last Monday, my mum called me. "Happy birthday", she said, "your aunt is in hospital with a brain tumor, and your uncle is on his way to Brisbane, can you pick him up?" And so began the weirdest birthday I've ever had. My aunt is having surgery today, so if you're the praying sort, please keep her in your thoughts.

hello sickness Every child in this house is sick. And the parents are starting to get sick, too. We're trying to hold out until school finishes on Thursday, but I don't think we'll make it.

hello Easter With money being tight, Easter has been the last thing on my mind, but I overheard a conversation between Natalie and Riley last week where they discussed the traditional presents the Easter Bunny brings them each year, and wondered what would be waiting for them this year. Guess I can't ignore it any  more.

hello school holidays Along with Easter comes school holidays. Douglas is heading to Melbourne for a week to visit his big brothers (both who have now moved over from Perth), and further visitors to our house are dependent on the results of today's surgery, so we'll be staying close to home.

hello toothache I never actually made it back to the dentist last year, after last July's initial visit and tooth removal. Unfortunately, I've battled an infection in a tooth for almost 3 months now, and with a planned trip interstate in May, I need to solve the problem soon.

hello Monday, a new start every week

  1. What a shocking week. Hope you make it to Thursday but pack it in early if you don't and start an early Easter. Hope you are all feeling better soon and all the best for your Aunty.

  7. I hope that your Aunt's operation went well. I was talking to Paul tonight about Easter and I think with it being a bit earlier this year it seems to have come up really quickly. I feel like we're still getting over Christmas!

  8. Oh my goodness, what a difficult and fraught time you are all having :(. Hoping the surgery has gone smoothly and your aunt makes a full recovery. And that you get some relief from that toothache - can really wear a person down. Thinking of you, and all those expectations ...

  10. I hope your week has improved since Monday Cate. I visited the dentist today and found out that I will need both my bottom wisdom teeth removed. One is starting to decay and the other also seems to be the one that gets sore and infected. They are both only semi-erupted in my mouth so I guess I've done well to get this far without incident. I hope your infection clears up soon.
