Inside - saying hello to the ideas and plans for the week ahead
hello dentist I'm facing that fear again, and heading off for a tooth extraction this morning. And while the idea of having the tooth gone is a relief, actually getting there is kind of stressful and full of moving parts that feel like breaking at the slightest false step.
hello shopping I have one present per child. Although Chloe's present is winging it's way to her (perhaps the upside of being so far away?!), and I know exactly what I want to buy for the kids. But the logistics of getting to the shops is a nightmare, and won't get any easier this week (see point one)
hello baking My oven died last week. I was baking fruit mince pies, and all of a sudden there was a loud bang. Fortunately, I still had a replacement element from last year's broken oven adventure. but Steve was in New Zealand at the time. This week it's repaired, and I have gingerbread apple pies to bake. (If biscuits are more your style, I've got a choc chip shortbread recipe up at The Organised Housewife)
hello reading I haven't read much since September. None of my book club books seemed interesting, all the popular books I purchased seemed boring, then I finally picked up Holding Up The Universe... even if YA isn't your scene, it gets my thumbs up.
hello goal thinking This week is going to be a bit too noisy for much goal setting, but it's the perfect time to think about goals and come up with big ideas for 2018. And to keep talking to the kids about making goals for themselves.
hello Monday, a new start every week

I had a tooth extraction about a month ago and it wasn't actually as bad as I feared. It was all done quickly. Hope the same happens for you. And choc chip shortbread sounds delicious! Have a great Christmas x
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Cate. Hope all goes well with the dental extraction. I had one this year for an infected tooth. Was such a relief to get it out.

We do our dentist at xmas too - weird tradition. Hope you arent in pain!!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be good to get the tooth out in the end, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI hope the dentist visit went well. Once the tooth is gone I hope the pain does too. Nothing worse than tooth pain..I know!! You do sound pretty organised and now it's school hols I bet your place is buzzing!! Thank you for linking up for the LAST #lifethisweek in 2017. I look forward to seeing you back linking up when you can, and 2018 prompts kick off on 1.1.18 and are already on the home page. Sending all festive wishes to you, Denyse xx
ReplyDeleteYou know that as well as sharing a birthday, we share a fear of dentists too so I can well imagine how you were feeling in the hour leading up to the appointment! I do hope that all went ok and that you are healed enough to eat all those delicious goodies you will be cooking up in that newly mended oven.
ReplyDeleteIt must be very exciting in your household with so many believers still around - the shopping will get done in time, and I know that everyone will have something good to open this time next week!
My teeth are awfuly sensitive at the moment and I am well overdue for a dentist visit. Not one of my favourite places either. I hope it went well x
