Hello Monday

Inside - saying hello to Monday and a new year

hello bike rides all the kids got new bikes for Christmas, and Steve and I pulled ours out of storage. While we won't be riding the streets of our suburbs any time soon, we're all enjoying the feeling of moving our bodies.

hello new runners It's been a long time since I've paid more than $50 for runners, but after asking some questions and trying a few things on, I've got some runners that should last a long time, and get me moving again.

hello goal setting As we stare down the barrel of a new year, and lots of changes in our household as Sophie heads off to school at the end of this month, my thoughts are turning towards goals that can move me forward and help me clarify my plans for the future. And I'm trying to extend those lessons to the kids and the family, with little luck but much discussion.

hello stationery With Sophie heading to school, our school book list shopping is huge this year. It will require at least an hour of our time, and baskets for all, and plenty of bribing to keep them moving and free of arguments.

hello books I haven't read much over the last few months, finding even the popular fiction I purchased to be not very exciting. But with the approaching year there were some bargains on Amazon, and I stumbled on a couple that I couldn't put down, much to Steve's distress.

hello Monday, a new start every week.

  1. Happy New Year Cate! You're saying hello to some great things: bike rids - love the feeling of the wind in my hair; new runners - like walking/running on cushions (so good); goal setting - I'm doing the same thing and have an awesome new diary/planner with which to do it; stationery - oh I love new books and stationery and a child starting school is such a fun time; books - I haven't read enough lately either but I'm trying to rectify that. Enjoy! :-)

  2. Happy new year Cate! How lovely to see some sunshine in your photos - no excuse for getting on that bike or putting on those new runners and clocking up some steps!

  3. Yay for bikes - I learned to ride at the start of 2017 and haven't got back in the saddle since! I love getting new runners - it's such an incentive to keep moving! Happy New Cheer!

  4. That sounds like much is moving forward (literally too!) in your household. One child off to school means "no kids at home"...that will feel both different and liberating I think! Thank you for linking up for #lifethisweek 1/52 and next week's optional prompt is Word or Intention for 2018.

  5. Happy New Year Cate! Runners that cost more than $50 are worth it! I used to buy cheap ones before and they always wore out way too quickly. I recently wore out my $100 Asics after using them regularly for two-and-a-half years. Needless to say, I have new runners too which I bought during the sales and hoping they last another two to three years! New books sound great! You have to let us know which ones and how they are!
