#baby5 | 26 weeks
Apparently, I look like a "pea with legs" (thanks husband!)
When you say "there's only 14 weeks to go" it doesn't sound as long as 3.5 months.
But this is the boring bit
Nothing's happening, it's another waiting game.
This time, I'm waiting for the Glucose Tolerance Test next week - no 1 hour test for me, it's straight to the big one!
I don't know what my chances of having GDM again are, although I'm told it's pretty high
It's not something I'm looking forward to
But having an answer will allow me to move on, so I just sit and wait.
While I wait, I'm imagining how much our life is going to change over the next few months
Sleeplessness, dirty nappies, piles of washing, housework never done...
Actually, it probably won't be that different at all!

last minute Easter project
I realised this morning that it's been very easy to fall into the "can't be bothered" trap with this pregnancy. Some of that is left over from the aneamia (and I'm not in the clear with that, but being pregnant means they can't get to the bottom of it), and some of it is related to money pressures, and some of it is related to feeling big and ungainly and plain worn out. It's hard work growing a person!
But I got cranky with myself this morning, and decided to just do it! I've been wanting to make some Easter bunny ears for the kids and today I'd had enough of my procrastination. I knew I had everything here, so materials wouldn't be a problem, I just needed to get on with it.
I didn't take photos of the process, because Amy's tutorial is pretty thorough. At the last minute, I decided to use a stabiliser between my ear pieces, to make them stand up more. And I've only managed to sew one set out of six, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.
Here's hoping I get the rest finished before Sunday!
Are you creating anything for Easter?

sunday sessions | the thirties
As the parent of an almost-fifteen-year-old, much of my twenties and all of my thirties have been wrapped up in children. And children don't often allow for mum to have an identity, let alone a musical identity - I've spent many an hour listening to Disney movies over and over, High School Musical ad nauseum and Hi5 on repeat (I have forever been grateful that my kids have never enjoyed The Wiggles!)
Stand out music from these years would have to be The Carpenters "We've only just begun" - this was the song I walked down the aisle to! And spent many an hour listening to it before and after the big day!
There will be no Sunday Sessions link up on Easter Sunday, but it will be back bright and early the first Sunday in April.
Sorry, I didn't get around to all linkers last week, I'll be visiting them all this week, though.
{I'll have the share code for the button figured out for next time}

the day the computer {almost} died
I was browsing pinterest yesterday, looking for, um, inspiration as you do, when all of a sudden, the screen on my computer went black.
It wasn't the blue screen of death, so I didn't immediately panic. But I did swear a bit. Because I had things I needed to do.
I jiggled some cords (but I don't know which ones I jiggled.)
I mentally calculated how old the machine was, and remembered we purchased an extended warranty, so any problem was covered.
Then I called Steve.
Because it had been five minutes, and I was thinking of all the work that I wouldn't be able to do with no computer (and using another computer in the house wasn't possible, my machine is the server for everything!)
"Have you jiggled the cords?" he said.
"Yep, done that, if it had worked, I wouldn't have called you."
"What about the power box under the desk? There was a bit of.... mm, stuff, under there the other day, is the power box plugged in?"
"I'm not that silly" I said, as I rolled my chair back from the desk.
"Um, there's a big lead hanging on the floor"
"Well, plug it back in" he said, "and I'll call you later to make sure everything is ok."
{no computers were harmed in the reenactment of these scenes}

project life | week 6
I'm still "behind" with my photo editing, but I'm slowly getting a nice system for keeping on top of the photos for each week (although some days I'm terrible at actually taking photos)
I often look at my week in review card when placing in the album and think "I've left xyz off", so I'm playing with a new system for keeping track (I've been writing in my diary each week, but am finding it a little bulky)

where do you go when you can't whine to facebook?
The whole social media landscape has changed in the last year. Boundaries are blurred, between forms of social media, and within the social media itself.
I hardly use my personal Facebook page any more. I feel like I'm always self-censoring anything I want to say, and that was never why I enjoyed Facebook in the first place.
We're so interconnected now, everybody is "doing" Facebook, and there's nowhere to go.
So, if you can't whine to Facebook about the people giving you the irrits because they're on your friends list, what can you do?
Well, you could write a blog about it.
Or you could get a change of scenery, go for a walk.
Bake a cake.
Talk to somebody (oh, wait, that's why you use Facebook, you don't have anyone you can call)
Wait for husband to get home from work and unload on him (but he thinks you're mad for spending so much time on Facebook anyway, so that doesn't really help)
Take a deep breath.
Refocus.
Remember, they didn't really mean to upset you, they weren't really thinking about how their actions would affect you, they were only thinking of themselves.
Anyone for a Bailey's?
