Time for new shoes

I've been walking five days a week now for five months. I've learnt things I never thought I would figure out. But I finally had to buy new shoes yesterday. In all honesty, I've been putting it off for a few weeks now, because those purple ones were so well worn, but I really should have done it back when my feet first started hurting while I was walking.

It sounds kind-of odd, talking about new shoes, but I think it's a pretty important milestone in this journey for me, because it proves that I've kept going. I wore holes in my shoes, because I keep putting one foot in front of the other. That's pretty big for me.

I have no idea if I've lost weight. I probably haven't, because I haven't changed my eating, losing weight was never my goal. My goal was just to move, and I think wearing holes in shoes proves that I've achieved that goal.

2015 has been an awesome year for achieving goals!

What goal have you kicked out of the park this year?

one little word | brave

I realised last week that this is the 8th word that I've chosen to guide my year.
Some words have been really good for me, and some words have been lost over the course of the year. But I keep seeking the guidance of that quiet voice inside, and listening for the word that becomes important each year.

BRAVE started singing out to me about the middle of last year. When a friend said to me "hey, lets work with businesses, teaching them how to do SEO and blogging and get google to notice their business" and I said yes, then doubted myself for weeks and wondered what the hell I was doing.

Then October saw me blogging every day about blogging, and knowing inside myself that I really could do this! So I've spent big chunks of the year learning about SEO and blogging and reading all those posts I pin on pinterest, but I don't do anything with the knowledge.

BRAVE wants me to learn to share my knowledge with others in a way that benefits me, not just them. BRAVE wants me to try new foods, learn new things, wear different clothes, randomly decide to get on a plane for a day trip.

BRAVE wants me to make plans and.follow.through. BRAVE wants me to put one foot in front of another.every.day.

But there's a little voice, nagging in my head tonight, that says that I can't do any of these things that I want to do. That I'm not good enough, don't know enough, can't share enough. BRAVE can see past that, and guide me to the end.

Have you chosen a word for 2015?
