100 days to Christmas | what project next?

The Christmas spirit was busy last week getting ready for scouts training over the weekend, but this week I'm fresh and ready to start.

I went downstairs this morning, and once I cleared all the kid-stuff off my workspace I had a thought - what exactly was I planning to work on? So I had a quick look in my craft room to see what was hanging around in the projects-thought-of-but-never-started pile.

A recipe box

Chip tins

Flower pots

A stationary box

A picnic basket

A basket full of balls

It's the first day of the school holidays and I have a sick little girl home, and now I have fresh new ideas for all these un-started projects.

Do you have any un-started projects from Christmas-past?

week in the life | day one

I decided last month that this year would be the year that I actually completed week in the life. I had no idea how I was going to do it, except that I would use my iphone and hipstamatic, because that had become my camera of choice over the last couple of months. I saw this post from Sharyn, and promptly ordered two packets of the 9x4x4 refills, and decided which lens and films I wanted to use.

Then I went and bought a new camera.Which had been on the cards for a couple of months. My Fujifilm S5700 is almost 4 years old (it's 7.1mp!). I've been researching the Canon Eos 1000D and 500D. But during the last week I started researching Fujifilm again, and had settled on the S3200. And then the guy at the shop said this was a better model. And it was on sale, for close to one quarter off the retail price (and close to the S3200's RRP)

So I haven't taken one single photo with hipstamatic. I had some vague idea that I would mix photos from the two sources, and I may still do that, but yesterday my battery died, and for the first time in the life of the iPhone I forgot to charge it until late in the day.

I took 135 photos over the day. Some are rubbish, out of focus, low light, clutter in the background. But they show our Monday. And today I'm taking more photos that show our Tuesday. And tomorrow, when the kids whinge again about the camera, I'll remind them again that in ten years time they''ll thank me for taking photos and making an album of what our week is like this week.

As for the album, I'll have to put my thinking cap on. I'm taking lots of notes, using the PDF Ali Edwards provided. And I have templates and journaling cards from previous years. I like 8.5x11 for little projects like this. And my LSS is starting to get in some lovely just-released-at-CHA-products.

Are you playing along this week? Have you decided what paper line you'll be using?

5 {projects in July} on friday (sunday)

This boy turns one in a couple of months, so it's time to get stuck into
creating and sending invites for his naming day/birthday party.

I've been following along with Weekly Gratitude since the beginning, and had some vague idea about doing a gratitude project for this month... today is the fourth, so I'd better get started!

class starts tomorrow.
I might not scrap much, but I promise to read every prompt, take some photos, and blog a bit.

I'm going to print the "blogging Riley" album to date, so I'm not rushing it for his birthday.

Keep up with my project 365, and I'll share my progress to date right here.

5 {projects in June} on Friday

I liked it so much last month, I thought I'd do it again this month.

{yes, my whole house does look like that. a story for another day}

 {this is what it should look like}
I'd like to say this is an acheivable goal, and for most people it probably is.
But I don't remember Nat having as hard a time while teething like Riley is.

Nat's daycare teacher is going on maternity leave next month.
I want to make a quilt for her.
{material is already cut for at least 4 quilts, I just need a healthy bubba}

School holidays start at the end of the month, and I crave organisation!
(but I don't know how realistic I am, see photo 1 above)

The annual expo is on next weekend, and I'm on the hunt for a

{at a good price, I hope}

I don't spend much time in scrappy forums any more, but I've always liked this one
They have a DT call at the moment... I'm thinking I might have a go, at least it will get some photos scrapped!

5 {projects in May} on Friday

Inspired by Francine Clouden

{available here}
start creating the envelopes for 1st birthday invitations
I always find the envelopes are the hardest thing to do, so like to address them first
I do the same thing at Christmas time, last year I finished my envelopes in August

Mel put a call out for class ideas, and opted to host a blog hop
so I decided to play along
{if only I knew what an Altoids tin was?!}

look away now, Mum

{source}

I've never been good at remembering to send my mum a present for her birthday, or Mother's day
(this year, they are one day apart, and Chloe's birthday is the 12th, hence the forgetting)
but when I saw these canvases, I knew exactly what she was getting this year
{6 of them!}
I'm just running late with them, but they'll be in the mail by the end of the month!
(and I'll use paper, not fabric)

{source}
I have a friend who's a celebrant, and she needs some chair sashes
I'm hoping I can do a good enough job for her

And I'll keep up with my p365
I have January to March in a photo album already
and it's great fun to look back on our year already.
